The Meadows

The Meadows

The Meadows is one of the most prominent luxury rehab centers in the United States. It is a center that has helped thousands of people recover from addiction and set them on a path of living without barriers.

Situated in Wickenburg, Arizona, the Meadows covers 14 acres of gorgeous desert real estate. The luxury rehab center makes great use of its desert surroundings and offers a southwest oasis just 50 miles outside of Phoenix.

Guests will find a range of treatments aimed at ending their addictions to drugs and alcohol, sex addiction, and eating disorders. The Meadows also offers treatment for anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Treatment plans include equine-assisted therapy, yoga, acupuncture, Tai Chi, and expressive arts therapy. The luxury rehab resort aims to heal the body and mind during a guest’s stay through tough love and plenty of physical fitness.

The Meadows has a long history of treating patients. Celebrities and well-known individuals have sought out its expert staff to help treat their addictions. One of the major aspects of the facility that attracts guests from all over the globe is its Survivors treatment program. The platform works with guests battling childhood trauma issues allowing them to release buried tensions during the program.

The facilities location in Wickenburg leaves it smack in the middle of the Sonoran Desert. Guests at the luxury facility have little to do during a stay except focus on staying clean and sober. The location of the Meadows enables guests to separate themselves from home and the potential triggers that cause their addictions.

Residents won’t find the Meadows to be one of the rehab centers that allows them to lounge around to “recover” from addiction passively. The Meadows uses tough love and isolation to change residents and help them through the process of psyche change.

What is a day like at Meadows Clinic?

At first glance, the Meadows resembles a wide-open desert ranch. A walk through the facility and that first impression quickly changes with the Meadows looking more like a college campus.

Although the clinic is a luxury center, there are aspects that make it feel more like upscale college life. Guests share rooms and a strict dress code is enforced by the staff at the center to prevent sex addicts from being triggered. Clients eat their meals in a cafeteria and sugar and caffeine are off limits.

Clients are given a pager upon arrival to ensure that they are able to make it to classes and meetings on time. Guests are strictly monitored by the staff at the Meadows and residents can receive visitors during their stays, but only 14 days after first arriving.

Days begin with guests choosing between one of three exercise activities: going to the gym, swimming or yoga. After breakfast, clients participate in peer meetings and small-sized group therapy.

A yoga or meditation class and lunch follows., and the afternoons see more physical fitness classes and specified therapy sessions. Dinner is followed by another physical fitness session and a 12-step meeting.

The Meadows Cost

A residential treatment program at the clinic runs for 30 days and costs $54,000. The Meadows does take private health insurance and guests should have their information ready when contacting the facility. The Meadows also offers financing options through Healthcare Lending.

The Meadows accommodation

The Meadows believes in basic living conditions and that is what residents of the center will find upon arrival. While many luxury rehab centers allow guests to have plush rooms with five-star amenities, the Meadows believes in tough love.

Therefore, guests live in shared dorms much like on a college campus. There are no private rooms and all guests are required to live with a roommate. Despite the shared rooms, guests will find a swimming pool, gym, and other amenities on campus.

The Meadows Privacy

The rehab center’s location in the Sonoran Desert 50 miles outside of Phoenix offers guests an escape from their lives back home. There is little to do except recover from addiction. The isolation that the Meadows preaches offers guests an escape from places and individuals that could trigger their addictions.

The Meadows Facility

The outside of the center resembles a large desert ranch while the inside looks far more like a college dorm. Guests use the gym and yoga facilities regularly throughout the day and a swimming pool is on campus. All meals are eaten in a cafeteria.

The Meadows Setting

The Meadows is located in the Sonoran Desert in Wickenburg, Arizona. Guests will find that there is little around them and isolation is a key concept used by the Meadows. It is the remoteness of the rehab center that is used to promote healing.

One of the World’s Best Rehabs

Residents won’t find the Meadows to be one of the rehab centers that allows them to lounge around to “recover” from addiction passively. The Meadows uses tough love and isolation to change residents and help them recover. Guests may share rooms but a top-notch gym and swimming pool offers the chance to heal the body and mind. The Meadows has a strong focus on fitness.
